Who is a perfect first-round pick for the Bucs in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Who is a perfect first-round pick for the Bucs in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Jason Licht and his staff are coming off a draft cycle in 2024 that saw them have one of the best draft classes in the entire league. They hit on three big-time players for the offense led by first-round pick Graham Barton.

The pick of Barton in 2024 was seen as perfect, but is there someone in the same light for the 2025 class?

PFF released their ideal first-round draft fits for all 32 teams this week. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they identified Benjamin Morrison, the cornerback out of Notre Dame, as their ideal fit. While the Bucs need cornerback help, Morrison seems to be a risky play.

Morrison is coming off a season-ending hip injury, but despite that, PFF seems excited about the idea of him joining the team.

"In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers will have a variety of solid prospects to choose from that would all fit a glaring need, but taking Morrison would be a savvy approach to adding depth to a cornerback room that lacked consistency in 2024."

They do need consistency, but the way they lacked it was in the health of their defense. Adding another potentially injury-prone player to the fold may not be in their best interest.
