A slow start to the contest didn't stop the Bulldogs from believing. Down 31-8 at halftime, flipping the game seemed nearly impossible. But SICS wouldn't go out without a fight. The Bulldogs' offensive engines got moving in the third, yet they still trailed Masuk High 37-23 heading into the last frame.
Propelled by Zahara Wilson and Niyama Adadenoh, the Bulldogs kept scratching and clawing back. Bringing it within two points and one possession left, Noelani Santiago heaved up a three as time expired. This game was going to end in a heartbreak, one way or the other. But for coach Tyrone Reid, it ended in a triumphant victory.
