Since Jan. 1, 2024, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal has kept track of businesses as they opened. Here's a look at new eats, drinks, shops and services that joined the Hub City in 2024.

Lubbock loves food, and 2024 did not disappoint area foodies. The year brought at least 38 restaurants and food trucks with tastes from the heart of Texas to as far away as Asia. Here's what opened, when, and what it offers.

While the local drink stop craze slowed slightly from 2023's 15, Lubbock still logged 10 new spots. Here's when and where:

Similar to 2023, Lubbock's trend of more health services continued throughout 2024. This time, the city saw at least 14 new places open, including a veterinary practice and mental health assistance.
