SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The College Football Playoff begins in South Bend.

No. 7-seeded Notre Dame is hosting No. 10-seeded Indiana in a December college football game with championship stakes.

The Irish like to ground out yards in the run game. Riley Leonard, Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price bring different running styles. Price and Love have 21 combined rushing touchdowns. Still, their passing game leaves a bit to be desired at times. All-American safety Xavier Watts leads the defense that's one of the best in the nation.

Kurtis Rourke leads a Hoosiers offense that's hard to stop once it gets going. The IU run defense is also stout and will need to be against a three-pronged Notre Dame rushing attack. Getting on the board early and letting the Indiana defense get aggressive to close out wins has been a winning formula.
