The seven-foot-tall 2025 numerals, with 620 total bulbs, have arrived in New York's Time Square ahead of this year's New Year's Eve celebration.

WAUSAU - This year is quickly coming to a close, and several celebrations are planned throughout the Wausau area to welcome the new year.

Children's Imaginarium

Children's Imaginarium will host Celebrate: Noon Years Eve! from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 31 at 195 N. Second St. in Wausau. The event is free to Imaginarium members, and people can purchase admission Dec. 31. The event will include crafts to make noise makers and confetti bombs and guests can make their own snacks. Guests can create a family time capsule and celebrate the end of 2024 with a balloon drop.

Granite Peak

Granite Peak Ski Resort is hosting a New Year's Eve Party from 8 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31 at 227200 Snowbird Ave. in Wausau. Festivities include fireworks, music, resolutions, a champagne toast and more for adults 21 years old and older. There is a $20 cover charge for this event.
