Retired nurse shares holiday spirit one quilt at a time

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Nursing home residents in Temple got a Christmas surprise this year all thanks to a retired nurse.

Christine White a quilt maker made an abundance of different colorful art quilts for those living at Temple Manor Nursing Home.

White believes that it will bring residents some more joy during the holiday season.

"I just thought it would be nice to put a little change in the nursing home there in Temple by hanging my art quilts on the walls," said White. By doing it at night when they wake up the next morning and they come out in the hallways, it'll be all kinds of bright and colorful different things that they have not seen before.

She is also planning on putting a few quilts in the bedridden residents rooms to enhance their surroundings.

For the next holiday, she is looking to partner with some other quilters to participate to get different quilts done for display.
