As another way of helping keep local youngsters busy, Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District has created a free activity booklet that can be accessed online.

The 22-page booklet, available online at bit.ly/41pMrAq, includes pages that can be printed out and colored, a letter to Santa form, Christmas word search and other games.

Links to indoor games provide instructions for a variety of activities that will be especially good when winter weather arrives. These include Lazer Maze, Balloon Tennis and indoor bowling.

Another page provides links to zoos around the world with webcams.

The booklet encourages children to use their imagination building a fort, drawing self portraits or putting on a puppet show, in addition to other activities.
