BELOIT - Scrambled egg and pancake breakfasts were being dished out at the Higher Ground Christian Center on Christmas Day, while ham dinners, cookies and stuffed animals were being handed out on Dewey Avenue.

The spirit of giving was alive and well on Wednesday in Beloit as people volunteered to make the holiday a little more cheery for local residents.
