ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC)- A local Jamaican restaurant got in the giving spirit on this big holiday. The "Island Buzz" gave out free Christmas dinner meals Wednesday night.

"We don't just giveaway on the holidays, to be truthful," admitted Daniella Clarke, part chef. "We giveaway even if they don't have the money because they've been our customers and they have been such lovely people to us," said Daniella Clarke, part chef.

The restaurant owner said this is the first time they decided to go this public with the food giveaways. He said that the community has been good to them, so now they want to return the favor.

"Rochester has opened doors for this restaurant and we grew and the people in Rochester have been kind to us as well, so we're giving back to them," said owner Bruce Stewart.

The restaurant is located at 1531 East Main Street in Rochester.
