BOSSIER CITY, La. - The good times kept rolling this weekend as the Krewe of Brakus and Meoux hosted their Mardi Gras Parade this afternoon.
Despite the rain and cold, a number of parade goers filled the route with a number of floats and plenty of beads and even treats for pets.
Queen Ambassador Mary Ann Edens said, "We love doing the parades because you feel like a rock star because you do have the kids there just screaming for the toys and everything. And I love giving away the dog treats and the dog toys and everything because, I mean, the pets always make you feel better. "
The King Ambassador, Scott Williams, also commented saying, "I know all the pet parents were saying it was cold and wet, but I believe the pets were having a great time. "
The Krewe of Barkus and Meoux helps animals in the Shreveport-Bossier area with programs to benefit abused, neglected and homeless animals. For more information on their programs, you can visit their website.
