Now that your broadcast-TV favorites are on holiday break, TVLine is looking at how each network's shows are stacking up thus far in the 2024-25 TV season -- starting off with ABC.
THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE: ABC might not put up numbers as big as CBS (or even NBC), but it by and large held steady this fall, despite a few change-ups. DWTS had a strong season, providing a great lead-in for the freshman drama High Potential, which was a huge upgrade for its time slot. And while we bitched in October about Golden Bachelorette handicapping Abbott, the fact is the reality show was on par with the sitcoms that filled the hour-and-a-half last spring, and Abbott makes up lost ground by way of beefy Live+7 bumps. The rejiggered Thursday slate is steady in viewers but took a small hit in the demo. Sunday nights is basically a no-cost test pattern. One question: With Shark Tank and 20/20 both waning, is ABC developing a Friday problem?
