Gov. Gretchen Whitmer teams up with Lions wives, girlfriends to decorate holiday cookies

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been hanging out with the WAGs -- or wives and girlfriends -- of the Detroit Lions.

In a video posted to social media Sunday, Whitmer and the WAGs are gathered at Lions tight end Sam Laporta and fiancée Callie Dellinger's home to decorate cookies on Friday. The cookies they decorated were sent to veterans.

Whitmer and the WAGs took to decorating football- and jersey-shaped cookies, with different last names corresponding to the husbands and boyfriends (HABs?) on the field. Some were intricate. Others, by the governor's own admission, weren't so perfect.

"Do you want to see my terrible Lions cookie?" Whitmer asked before showing her cookie to the camera.

The cookie makers spent the day Friday discussing their favorite holiday traditions and holiday movies.

And, of course, Whitmer and the WAGs ended the video with a supportive cheer for the Lions.

"Go Lions! Merry Christmas!" They said.
