Costco Announces Recalls On Multiple Food Items - Conservative Angle

Costco has recalled multiple food items due to listeria concerns.

The wholesale retailer announced a recall of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon.

"With an abundance of caution, Acme Smoked Fish Corp. has initiated a voluntary recall on certain packages of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes," an alert read.

Per CBS News:

The notice was sent to customers who Costco records show purchased affected fish products between October 9-13. Only packages from lot number 8512801270 are affected.

Customers who purchased the recalled salmon are instructed not to eat it and to return it to a Costco store for a full refund.

"We regret this unfortunate incident and have taken immediate corrective steps to ensure that this issue never happens again," Acme Smoked Fish Corp. CEO Eduardo Carbajosa said.

Costco also announced recalls of multiple chicken and meat products.

It was linked to a larger recall of BrucePac meats.

From The Hill:

Costco has recalled more products over fears of listeria contamination, part of a much larger recall of ready-to-eat chicken.

The most recent recalls include Readywise 110 Serving Emergency Protein Bucket and Red's Southwestern Grill Chicken Mini Burritos, El Monterey Mexican Grill Chicken & Cheese Taquitos, Rana Chicken Truffle Carbonara and Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken & Portabello Mushroom Sauce.

Costco typically contacts shoppers who have purchased a recalled item and also maintains a list that includes the lot codes and best-by dates of affected products.

The majority of the recalls were connected to a large recall of BrucePac ready-to-eat chicken products found to be contaminated with listeria.
