UConn kicked off its Big East schedule with an overtime win against Xavier.

Solo Ball led the Huskies with 22 points, and Tarris Reed Jr. and Alex Karaban each poured in 20 points. The Musketeers proved to be a challenge despite the Huskies' strong offensive output.

Xavier shot 29 of 58 from the field and 13 of 24 from distance with big games from Ryan Conwell (23 points) and Dante Maddox Jr. (22 points).

Butler likely won't be as difficult for UConn. The Huskies are on a five-game win streak and are fully removed from that three-game losing streak at the Maui Invitational.

The Bulldogs are 7-5, but lost the last four outings, three of which were against ranked opponents. They get the benefit of playing in front of their home crowd, but it may not be enough to take down the surging Huskies in this Big East matchup.
