'We will not turn anyone away': Jacksonville nonprofit extends cold weather shelter hours

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The City Rescue Mission (CRM) in Jacksonville is expanding its shelter services to protect the homeless as temperatures dip below 40 degrees.

Starting Jan. 1, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., CRM's New Life Inn at 234 W. State Street will offer extended overnight accommodations to anyone in need.

"We will not turn anyone away," said Paul Stasi, Executive Director of CRM. "Our priority is ensuring everyone has a warm shelter and a hot meal during this cold weather."

These expanded services will remain in place as long as the cold persists. CRM encourages residents to stay indoors and prioritize safety during extreme weather.
