BOONE -- The Town of Boone Police Department will welcome four additional officers to its ranks after receiving a grant to assist with hiring entry-level positions.

The COPS Hiring Program, which helped provide $500,000 to the department for the positions, is making the additional hires possible. This award will provide supplemental funding for the four additional entry-level officers.
