It's been a season to forget for the New York Jets, as they stand with a 3-8 record and an aging quarterback under center.
Aaron Rodgers is a free agent after this season, and the rumor mill has reached the Minnesota Vikings - because, of course, it has.
Rodgers, a long-time Green Bay Packers quarterback, left for the Jets and isn't the first to do it that way. Hall of Famer Brett Favre did the same thing, and after the Jets, he returned to the Midwest in purple and gold.

It's all rumors of course, but it's fun to consider. Especially considering Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold will find himself on another team next season as rookie J.J. McCarthy is expected to be the team's franchise quarterback going forward.
However, McCarthy recently underwent an additional procedure on his already-surgically repaired knee last week. Head coach Kevin O'Connell noted that McCarthy is still on his rehab schedule regardless of the procedure.
"We just wanted to make sure that there was no cause for concern. All reports were very positive. He's on the original timeline and in good shape. ... [We] feel really good about where he's at," O'Connell said told reporters.
According to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, McCarthy also received a biologic injection as part of the knee procedure in order to assist in the healing process and ensure his recovery remains on track.
While many reports are saying McCarthy remains on track to be ready for the 2025 season, what if he isn't?

Enter the Rodgers rumor mill.
Is it likely the Vikings take a chance on a regressed, aging quarterback to take over under center? Probably not. But anything is possible.
The blame for the Jets' failed season can't solely be blamed on Rodgers, as the defense isn't the same dominant force as it was in 2023 and head coaching duties has gone from Robert Saleh to Jeff Ulbrich without any positive change. Owner Woody Johnson fired Joe Douglas on Tuesday, even though a lot of the blame could be placed on Johnson himself.
With a new general manager to take over in New York, it's likely a new quarterback and system could be on the way. Rodgers may not be a priority to re-sign, leaving him as a potential free agent.
It left many to speculate Minnesota as a possible destination for the quarterback on social media.
