GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) -- Two people are recovering after a driver crashed into a restaurant in the East Valley late Friday morning.
Shortly after 11 a.m., Mesa and Gilbert firefighters were called to a crash at a Jersey Mike's restaurant inside Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, near Power and Ray roads. Firefighters say a driver crashed through the glass doors at the front of the restaurant.
Two people were taken to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.
Gilbert authorities don't believe the driver was impaired at the time of the collision.
This was the third instance where a driver drove into a building on Friday. In Tempe, a pickup truck driver crashed into a coffee shop's patio. Earlier in the morning, an alleged drunk driver crashed into a Phoenix home.
