Enterprise Parks and Recreation will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Recreation and Aquatics Center on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 9 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

"From the new gymnasium and completely renovated Moose Hope Gym, to fitness equipment and free weights, program space, locker rooms, concessions, pool and more, this will be an opportunity for everyone to come out and see this state-of-the-art facility," said Blake Moore, Interim Director of Community Services and Recreation. "We are excited to we come our citizens into the facility that will serve our community for years to come."

While the pool is not yet open, visitors will be able to see the six, 25-yard lane pool that has general swim/competition on one side and a zero-depth entry with water play structure on the other, as well as the pool house and locker rooms.

During the grand opening, citizens will be able to sign up for memberships and fitness classes like spin, yoga, and boot camp.

"Our fitness instructors will offer a variety of classes and time slots that are based on community feedback. We took the survey results and created a calendar that will rotate and change to meet the needs of our citizens."

'Largest municipal facility'

Moore said the 70,000 square-foot under roof facility is the largest municipal facility in the City of Enterprise. "My hope is that our community can see the variety of opportunities we can now offer. Whether we are hosting tournaments, offering fitness classes, or hosting special events, this space is designed to meet the needs and wants of our citizens. We hope they will join us as we officially open and start this next chapter for Enterprise Parks and Recreation."
