Man wanted for crimes in two parishes arrested in St. John

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Hammond man accused of multiple crimes across two parishes. Malike Andrews, 20, was arrested on Tuesday and is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and other charges. He was arrested after deputies found him in an SUV that was reported stolen from Hammond, according to the sheriff's office. The SUV was parked at the back of a LaPlace business. Andrews was found in the driver's seat. He was then booked with resisting an officer and illegal possession of stolen things, according to the sheriff. The sheriff said Andrews was also booked with the two outstanding fugitive warrants. One is from the Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office for attempted second-degree murder, home invasion and armed robbery. The second warrant is from Livingston Parish for possession of a stolen firearm and simple burglary, according to a news release issued by the sheriff's office. Andrews is being held in the St. John Parish Jail on a $26,500 bond
