INDIANAPOLIS -- Here's what drivers can expect Friday morning after 2.5 inches of snow fell across Central Indiana on Thursday.
Drizzle is likely, possibly mixed with rain before 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, after temperatures in the Indianapolis area were expected to stay around freezing through the night. There's a chance of rain between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
As snowfall tapered off Thursday evening, motorists were urged to drive cautiously and watch for slick spots, with the travel impact expected to be low or medium.
"This could be a shock to the system for a lot of folks because we haven't had temperatures like this all fall," said Mike Ryan, a meteorologist. "But just allow for extra time, be prepared to go slower and for drops in visibility."
