Hotel details
The Old Government House is "the grande dame of Guernsey hotels", says The Daily Telegraph. It is the island's only 5-star hotel and played a significant role in its history. The 300-year-old property was the former residence of the Lieutenant Governor in 1796. It was also the official headquarters of the German occupation in the 1940s.
Nowadays, the property is a boutique retreat with refined, quirky interiors. Think tinkling chandeliers, velvet armchairs, and old-world grandeur in spades. Country Living praises the impeccable service, which evokes visiting "the grand home of a dear friend." The pretty capital, St Peter Port, is a short stroll from the hotel.
During this deal, you'll experience the hotel's signature Deluxe Afternoon Tea. It includes finger sandwiches, cakes, and scones with Guernsey clotted cream. You'll also dine once at the hotel's award-winning Brasserie Restaurant.
You'll receive an upgrade from a Double to a Queen Room. A television, tea- and coffee-making facilities, temperature controls, and Wi-Fi are offered. There are also deluxe toiletries and plus bath robes in the room.
