CT's Linda McMahon Expected To Head Trump's Department Of Education: Report

The Connecticut businesswoman, best known for her role as the co-founder and former CEO of WWE, served as head of the Small Business Administration during Trump's first term from 2017 to 2019.

After leaving the SBA, McMahon became chair of America First Action, a pro-Trump super PAC, and currently leads the America First Policy Institute, a think tank often referred to as a "White-House-in-waiting," according to the report.

This new role marks a shift for McMahon, whose career has spanned entertainment, business, and political advocacy. Despite her work in the first Trump administration, her critics question her lack of direct experience in the education field, according to CNN.

However, her position could be a short-lived one. Trump has previously pledged to axe the Department of Education, blaming the agency for "indoctrinating young people with inappropriate racial, sexual, and political material."

McMahon's nomination comes amid a flurry of nominations over the past two weeks -- many controversial.
