Y Combinator-backed Decipher AI, an error monitoring platform that eases the process of analyzing session replays, was launched on Dec. 20. The San Francisco-based startup, which is part of YC's winter 2024 cohort, helps companies identify and resolve bugs by analysing runtime data with AI.
A session replay is a feature used in analytics and error monitoring tools that allows businesses to record and replay user interactions with their website or application.
"Traditionally, teams usually spend countless manual hours scrubbing through FullStory, Hotjar, and Posthog recordings to find insights or identify problems. With Decipher AI, you can skip the manual work -- AI analyzes every session automatically and surfaces actionable insights instantly," the company said.

Decipher's platform automatically detects issues like errors or features which do not load, answers product questions without manual instrumentation, and gets real-time alerts when issues are discovered.
By reviewing session replays, enterprises can gain deeper insights into how users experience their platform, identify problems, and better understand the context behind errors or bugs, leading to improved troubleshooting and user experience optimization.
Founders Rohan Das and Michael Rosenfield bring deep expertise from Google, having led multi-billion-dollar, multi-billion-user products at Google for about half a decade, including the YouTube homepage and Pixel. They developed Decipher AI to simplify the process of understanding user and product behavior for everyone.

"With AI-generated product and user insights, exploring session replays on your phone is finally practical and effortless," said Rosenfield in a LinkedIn post, revealing Decipher AI's recent mobile application.
So far, Decipher AI has raised a pre-seed fund of $500,000, according to Crunchbase. Its technology not only aims to enhance troubleshooting and user experience optimization but also enables informed decision-making, ultimately helping companies improve their products and services.
